Q: Let’s start at the beginning. How did you learn about the psychic world? Did you grow up believing in it?
A: A child sits in the corner of a dining room watching in fascination while her mother, aunt, and other adults are contacting spirits, levitating tables, conducting past life regressions, and using their minds to bend metallic objects. Does this sound like the beginning of a scary movie? Not to me… the child sitting in the corner was me and this was my childhood.
I come from a long line of very gifted psychics. My great grandmother Lucille, was a well known psychic who was sought out be people all over the country. She gave people answers for 40 years. My grandfather Raymond, was one of the most gifted people I have ever met. Not only could he interact with the spiritual realm, he could conduct past life regressions on anyone at any time. He also was very skilled in the art dousing. Using the dousing methods, he found many things. He was even hired by Shell to find oil, which he did with great accuracy. He was also able to join in conversations in different location than his own. For example, we would be at home talking about his stubborn ways and he would call our house and join in the conversation right where we left off.
My mother, aunt, and uncle were born with similar spiritual gifts and continued my grandfather’s weekly séance, table levitating, spoon bending, and past life regression sessions.
Following the genetic lineage, I was also born with spiritual gifts. Since early childhood, I have been able to see, hear, and interact with the spirit realm.
I have been able to see spirits for as long as I can remember. My earliest memory is when I was about two years old. My mother was a single parent. It was late in the evening and my mother was asleep. I remember wanting out of my crib. I wasn’t sure how I was going to get out, but I knew I was going to get out. At that moment a man came over to my crib, picked me up, and sent me to my mom’s room. Later, my mother told me that it freaked her out to see me out of my crib and when I told her that the man let me out, she said that we did not live with anyone else but the two of us.
As a child, I lived in a house that was equivalent to the Amityville Horror house. This house had some really good spirits and some really dark spirits that resided there. My ability to see spirits allowed me to know what kind of day I was going to have. If the good spirits were present, it was a good day and if the bad were present, well, those were the dark days. This was my introduction to the psychic and spiritual realm.
Q: What were some of the experiences you had in the Amityville type house?
A: My abilities allowed me to learn the names and temperament of each spirit/entity in the house. Like a teacher in a classroom, I kept a daily log of the spirits in the house. I made two columns on my roll sheet; the bad spirits and the good spirits. The bad spirits were very destructive and harmful, while the good spirits were protective and nurturing. So in the house there seemed to be a constant struggle between good and evil. When I took roll and figured out who was in the house, I could determine what type of day it was going to be.
In the house, I lived with my brother, my mother and my step father. My brother was seldom ever home as he was always off with his girlfriends and my mother was often at work, which left me alone with my step father. On the occasions that the bad spirits were present, I would see dark shadows around my step father talking and whispering things to him. These negative entities would manipulate and convince him to try to hurt me. He would often tell me that he was not interested in hurting me, but “they” told him to do it. Although there were many occasions that he tried to hurt me, there are two that stand out in my mind the most. The first is when he had his toll box out and he was throwing wrenches at me. I was hiding under the table and as the wrenches were coming at me, they would stop in mid air almost as if they hit an invisible wall and fall about an inch away from me. That was one of the many occasions when the good spirits made sure that he did not hurt me.
One of the most horrifying experiences I had in that house was when I was about 8 years old. My mother had left for work and my step father (who had just about completely lost his mind by this time) decided that it was time to take me out. He came rushing down the hall yelling that “they” wanted me to die. Before he was able to reach my room, the door slammed shut and locked. He was banging and kicking the door so hard that I thought it was going to come off of its hinges. Then he went to my big bedroom window and tried to break it by hitting it with blunt objects and throwing chairs at it. Nothing worked. Everything bounced off the door and window. The door did not unlock or open until my mother arrived home in the early evening. Needless to say, we left the house shortly after that incident.
Q: That’s intense! What was it like to grow up with this gift?
A: Living in an extremely haunted house – horror house made me extremely fearful of the spiritual realm. We had so many very dark days that my mother decided that all psychic activity and abilities were evil. Consequently, she chose to end all psychic activity and would not discuss anything with me. So as I was growing up, I did not discuss what I saw or heard with anyone. I lived in fear of these "evil" spirits that would not leave me alone. Although I tried to deny my psychic side for many years, I realized when I was about 17 that the spirits were not going away and I could not deny my gifts any longer. I began to study about psychic abilities and read about other psychics.
Q: How did you become a professional psychic?
A: When I was about 25 years old, I met a man who was a healer and very intuitive. He taught me how to meditate and embrace my gifts. He also taught me that I did not need to be scared of the spirits – that I could work with them.
Shortly after my mentor began fine tuning my abilities, I went to a psychic fair where I met a psychic medium by the name of Belinda Bentley. She was very informative and helped me see that spirits are here to give us messages which helped me a lot, but we soon lost contact. I continued to study about psychic abilities on my own.
I shared with my friends and family the messages that the spirits had for them for most of my life, but I decided to move onto giving readings to people that I did not know after this experience…When I had reached a low point in my life and was not sure what my path was here on this earth, I got an email from Belinda, stating that she did not know why, but a spirit guide told her to contact me. Shortly after that email, we met up and spent hours talking about my journey on this planet and the next steps the spirits were leading me to take. Although Belinda may not have fully understood the impact of her words and what they truly met, I understood that I needed to share my gifts with others and work as a professional psychic medium. It’s what my heart wanted and I was finally giving myself permission to do it.
Q: What were the obstacles you had becoming a psychic and how did you get beyond them?
A: Being a psychic is not just about reading books and learning what to say to people. It is about listening to your inner self and being honest with everyone you work with. At first, my biggest obstacle was myself. I would doubt that the messages that I got were right. I worry about giving wrong information and second guessed every thing I told my clients. Then I heard a saying from John Edward, he said "don’t read the mail." When I heard this, I instantly understood that even though some of the messages mean nothing to me, it was not my responsibility to understand what was being said. The messages I received were meant for the person I was giving them to, I did not need to rationalize or over-think what I was saying. I just needed to deliver "the mail."
When I stopped "reading the mail" I found that I could deliver messages to my clients and not worry about being right. Today, I welcome a challenge and am OK with the occasional crazy message.
Q: What is the most extraordinary reading you’ve done?
A: The most extraordinary reading I have ever given involved a girl that had some very interesting past life memories. While sharing one of her memories, I immediately found myself in the situation she was describing. I, too, remembered this particular event and was deeply affected by the circumstances in this memory. I was so affected by this memory that it took several months for me to get over the feeling caused by this memory. Since remembering this particular event from a past life, my life path has become clearer. I also now know who and what I am! Now every reading I give, I look forward to helping people find out who they are.
