Q. CJ are you both a psychic and a medium or one or the other. Please explain this to our readers.

A. Actually, I am both. All moderately to highly sensitive people have the ability to perceive subtleties in their environment, what we call being psychic or intuitive. A smaller number of these people are so acutely aware of energy that they can actually sense higher spiritual energy. Psychic mediums, like myself, can receive messages from the spirit world making.

Q. You’re well known as a Medium on the show Paranormal State an A&E Production. How do they view your psychic abilities on the show? Are they met with open mindedness or skepticism?

A. During filming, my abilities have been met with healthy skepticism and a desire for validation, as I would expect during any reading or investigation. Not all of what I do, such as relaying messages from crossed over loved ones, or all of the validations, will make it onto the final edit, This can be a little frustrating sometimes, but the PRS crew has always allowed me to do what I do best and to help the clients, which I appreciate a great deal.

Q. How did you begin talking with spirits?

A. Spirits have always talked to me, in dreams and in visions. I could even hear them speaking to me telepathically, though I didn’t always like that part of it. Even as a child, I’ve always felt an unusual connection to the divine. I actually asked for the Biblical gifts of spirits when I was only seven years old. I guess I have always, innately known that I was meant to work with spirits in some way.

Q. What obstacles stood in your way and how did you overcome them?

A. My biggest obstacle was overcoming my fear of crossed over spirits; I was brought up to think that spirit communication with deceased persons was wrong. I also feared disappointing my own loved ones who don’t agree with it. I realized that I had been trying to fit into a belief system that judged me for the way I was born, which was not at all fair. Once I allowed myself to let go of the beliefs that didn’t ring true for me, I was able to open up to a knowledge that resonated with my deepest being and to accept myself as a whole person.

Q. I’d like to give you an opportunity to say what you’d like to the public. To believers and non-believers alike. If you have a spirit guided message or just something you’d like to say please use this opportunity.

A. This message would be for those who are going through difficulties and are asking for divine intervention or perhaps wondering if their prayers are being heard. Divine spirits are always with us and always willing to help guide us. A Spirit isn’t always obvious or bold in it’s work, but it is always working. It can be difficult to have faith when we don’t see immediate results from our requests or if things don’t happen when and how we think they should. It’s important to remember that guidance may not always be what we expect, but it never fails to bring us the best possible results. A spirit makes all things beautiful in it’s own time.

Q. Have you ever had a really difficult reading or spirit communication where it was too emotional to bear? If so, what was your experience and how do you protect yourself from having this kind of experience in the future?

A. I can’t say that I’ve ever had a reading that was too emotional to bear, though I can recall some very intense ones. I’ve learned not to become emotionally bound in a reading; I can feel things during the reading without taking those emotions on as my own. Even so, there are always times when a reading is more difficult because the emotions felt can be very intense, but that’s all a part of being an emotional healer. As for protection, prevention proves to be the best medicine so I avoid anything that doesn’t feel quite right, even if it means turning down a seemingly good opportunity. I feel that I’m always protected as long my own intentions are in line with a higher spirit’s and I maintain healthy respect for my own as well as the spirit’s limitations.

Q. Do you have a ritual that you do before a reading or before filming? A prayer, meditation or a mantra?

A. I tend to meditate and pray frequently throughout the day, even if I’m not doing readings; it’s just become a habit of mine. It helps me to be prepared should I be called on to help someone unexpectedly, and it also helps to keep me in good spirits. As for filming for television, I try not to think about the investigation beforehand, to keep myself relaxed just as I would before any reading. It’s easy to get anxious while sitting alone in a hotel room waiting to be called into an investigation at a moment’s notice, so practicing a clear mind and deep relaxation is especially important for me during those times.

You are a psychic and a medium that can help the police solve crimes or help someone find their life partner during a reading. These are extremely different types of readings. Is there one particular kind of reading you prefer over the other?

“I like them both. In both instances, you’re helping people. I believe this is a spiritual path and spiritual work. Therefore, all of it is important and I love them all. There are times when I do a psychic reading and it is just as intense as solving a case. People’s emotions run high.

I do more psychic readings than criminal cases, but when I am doing a criminal case, I get into the head of the person who committed the crime. It’s similar to a criminal profiler; I am the psychic criminal profiler. I’ve gotten information on motives and I’ve told police how to question a suspect to get them to confess! At times I can even get information by just looking at crime scene photos.”

When you solve a case, who do you feel you are helping more, the deceased or those that are still living?

I help them both equally. It’s important that they both find peace. I give the family peace and resolution about the person who has passed away and I help put the murderer behind bars. For the persons who have passed, I give them peace of mind, so they are no longer concerned about their family, and at the same time help bring their murderer to justice.

Do the spirits care more about the peace and well being of the family who suffers or more about putting the criminal behind bars?

“In every case the spirit is more concerned about the well being of the family. They want to give the living closure and peace of mind. It’s not as important to catch the person who committed the crime.”

Do you experience sadness or negativity when doing criminal investigations?

“I don’t ever feel drained or negative while doing a reading or working a case. Psychics who feel drained don’t know how to protect themselves correctly. I have good boundaries with my psychic work. When I work on a case I know that I am helping someone; I am doing the work I am meant to be doing. God doesn’t give you a gift to suffer. If I suffered I would see it as a curse not a gift, so I always feel positive about what I am doing.”

You have a rare gift even among psychics. You can see your guides and people who have passed as opposed to just hearing them. Can you describe what you see?

“For years, I didn’t know the difference between someone living and someone who had passed. They come to me just as if they were alive. If I didn’t know any better I would try to touch them believing they were solid. Rarely do they come to me as a faded image or as an outline of the body they once had, but never as a mist that other psychics describe seeing. It’s very natural; for me it’s second nature to see these spirits as they were.”
How does being psychic help you? How do you use these abilities in your everyday life?

I have been doing this for 15 years and I have found that being psychic has helped me grow spiritually and as a person. I can’t read myself, but I do get guidance from my guides. Doing this work is its own great reward. I help people find peace; I am guided by love.

How has the world changed in regards to psychics and mediums since you first stepped onto the scene as a well known psychic on Jenny Jones and other media? Do you feel that, one day, skeptics won’t exist?

“The media has always been supportive of me. I’ve never had a negative media experience or bad press. I’ve been featured on the Jenny Jones Show and a dozen magazines; none of them have ever called me a kook or a weirdo. John Edward helped open the door for many psychics, but it’s Hollywood that is catching up to America; Hollywood has always been a little slow, never wanting to rock the boat. Sci-Fi (now SyFy) has been particularly progressive in offering people what they want.”

Nancy Matz  Psychic Medium

Psychic, Medium and Author Nancy Matz is a psychic I met when she lived in Sacramento CA. I remember a friend visiting me and asking me if I knew who she was. I said "no." My friend shared with me the reading she received from Matz, and how accurate it was. There was no doubt in my mind she was the real deal. About a year later I met Nancy, at a psychic fair. Her energy was lovely and I am positive that is why she was one of the most popular psychics at the fair. Her story is an inspiring one and I hope that it will inspire all who read it. This is someone who truly answered a "calling," but I will let her tell it in her words.

Nancy will you please tell us a little about how you became a psychic?

Most of this is in my bio at my web site, so I’ll make this brief.  I told my father, "Please don’t go we will never see you again." I said that three days before he was killed by a drunk driver.  My grandmother (his mother) told us later that I told her of "Daddy" coming to visit my younger sister and I after he was dead. This was the start.

Was there ever a time you were afraid of your gifts?

I can’t remember ever being really afraid of my gifts, because until I had more experience I figured everyone was like me.  After rediscovering my gifts in 1990 and people at work eventually found out that I was psychic; I had people avoiding me as though I could read minds.  Can’t change people’s minds unless they want it changed. I was already wanting to change careers, but because of this I just did so a few years earlier than I had planned.

I know around Thanksgiving of 1987 you were diagnosed with Cancer. Do you feel you are still alive today, because you were meant to help people? Or is there another reason you attribute your survival too?

Good question, one that I have given much thought to.  I reasoned that I was experiencing Cancer to see the value of life and that I was not on the right path. 

Is there advice that you can give others going through the experience of facing death? Might there be a bigger message a calling to answer?

In those facing a crisis, spirit and the Divine will help direct and comfort those who will hear.  At the time of my crisis, I had little faith, yet that cancer had such an impact on me and made me realize how precious life really was.  I was not aware I would live, the docs thought I would; but I still did not believe.  And because of that, I felt I needed to understand and meaning of life.  Those thoughts led me to this path to help others by helping and gaining the knowledge to set my soul free of fear and being lost.

What inspired you to write your two books, "Two Worlds" and "Help! Get Me Out of This Funk." Were they channeled or did it come from you?

I take credit for all the words typed.  I suspect that when I go back I might see statements that would make we wonder if I had spirit help.  I’ve had a spirit visitation and they said I would type books, so as my passion grew for my work I started writing!  My books can be found at my web sites or at Amazon.com   I am typing three more books now, next one will focus on "Ghosts".

You also do Past Life Regression Therapy. How does this therapy help a person’s life? Do you have an extraordinary story to share about your work with regression?

One of the best regressions was a woman/woman couple who came for one of them to understand her fear of Money.  I only intended to deal with the lady who had the money issues; her partner showed up to experience the session also.  I successfully had the "money" lady go to a time where she was in an ancient culture and had lots of money.  I barely remember the outcome, but I believe she had a shallow and loveless life.  When we sat and talked about that life, her partner was crying.  We asked what the issue was and she said that in that life regression she was this woman’s slave and she loved and worshiped her.  The woman who was the slave has had many successful jobs and has had no money issues. where the rich woman has many money challenges. 

Do you have a message for the world?

Wouldn’t it be wonderful, if we all knew that survival was a normal condition of life;  and how we live this life would determine how emotionally healthy we would live in spirit?

Psychic Interview Number 12 ! With Blue Hernandez

Q: Blue how did you become a psychic medium?

A: I don’t think I ever became a psychic, I believe I have always been one…

As a child I always seemed to know when something was going to happen. Intuition I suppose. I encountered my first spirit when I was around seven years old. A girl was found murdered across the street from my house (still a cold case). I saw the police and ambulance take her away in a body bag, but I never saw the victim’s face. Months later when I was looking at my older sisters’ high school annual there was a picture of Vicky (the murdered girl). I said, "Oh I know her. She comes to my window all the time." My mom looked at me as if I were nuts! Because I didn’t know how to read I was not aware that the photo was in memory of her.

In 1999 I moved into a house on 2 ½ acres. What was supposed to be a serene, safe haven was not! That place terrified me. It pretty much terrorized me every night. The paranormal society came and confirmed "they" the spirits wanted me out and they wanted to hurt me. The situation was bad. I would wake up to the gas on, heater full blast, knocking on walls, footsteps, ceiling fans turning on even with the switches off. Once I got up to run out and the door jammed. I truly thought I was losing my mind. Up until 1999 I was able to handle just about anything paranormal, but this one wanted to hurt me. I had no choice but to move especially after the gas turned on by itself. This is what made me want to help others. Now I do cleansing of clients homes or business. I know the feeling of being held hostage emotionally and physically. I am rewarded by helping those who are in a challenging position. This was my initiation into being a medium and owning it for the first time.

Q: Being a psychic can be hard. There are skeptics and those who feel being psychic is going against the bible. What has kept you on this path and what keeps you going daily?

A: I hid my psychic ability for several years. I rebelled and went through a stage where I thought, I can’t do this. It’s wrong! I have always felt compelled to help friends and strangers even, but I didn’t. It was a struggle with myself.
Then I had an experience. This is more of a psychic experience than a medium one. My father had knee surgery and I was unable to get into the hospital in time to visit him. Visitation hours were over. After falling asleep I had a feeling, a panic that something was terribly wrong with my father. I called the hospital to have them check on my father and he was fine watching TV, but I knew all was not what it seemed. Despite the nurse telling me I wasn’t welcomed at the hospital and if I came she wouldn’t let me see my father, I jumped in my car and rushed over. When I entered the hospital I heard a code over the loud speaker. They began rushing to my dads’ room.
My father was bleeding out of his mouth, white as a ghost. My dad looked at me and said "Oh Boo Boo, I thought I was going to die alone." Everyone was surprised except my father.

That is how I get through this everyday – knowing what I am able to do. I also put my faith in God and I go to church.

Q: What do you specialize in?

A: I am an intuitive Tarot reader, I use psychometry, automatic drawing, automatic writing (it looks like doodling, but it helps me channel spirits and helps me do readings). I also do home and business cleansing – whether it is paranormal activity or a need for a peaceful atmosphere.

Q: You made a few predictions on Disturbed Paranormal Radio back in January what are some of those predictions and which have you gotten right so far?

A:

1. I had stated Lee Daniel’s would win award for best director. He won best director at the independent spirit awards on March 5th, 2010.
2. My prediction was that Monique’ would win the Oscar this year! It was a strong feeling. I was sure of it and as we all know she did win.
3. I had said, "Someone who is an A-list actor/entertainer, Caucasian, who has dark secrets that are pretty shocking will be exposed. I now believe this person to be Jesse James, Sandra Bullocks the A-list actors husband. We all know that story pretty well. Sex tapes, four mistresses and a lot more secrets coming out.
4. I had made a prediction about Lindsay Lohan. I saw Samantha Ronson, helping or doing some kind of intervention. Recently her dad did a press conference reaching out to family and friends to help her…an intervention. We will see what role Samantha plays in that in the near future.

I am pleased to announce that today we are featuring Anthon St Maarten, a very gifted psychic and interesting man.  He joins us today in this psychic interview number 11 !

Q: I couldn’t help notice the style of your name. Is that a Dutch name? You are originally from the Netherlands?

A: I am partly of Dutch origin, but I was born and raised in South Africa. Actually, I have a peculiar lineage, but this is common among people in my country who are descendents of the original European settlers. I am a blend of Dutch, German, French, British and Irish ancestry. It is similar to the background of many Australians, for example; the major difference being that the Dutch influence is very prominent in my case, since they were the first colonials to settle here in 1652. In fact, my home language, Afrikaans, sounds very similar to Dutch and Flemish. My psychic heredity, however, has its roots in my paternal grandmother’s Celtic background. She immigrated here as a young girl, and she was a clairvoyant medium.

Q: Tell me when you first knew you were psychic? Was it a sudden realization or did you always know this?

A: I knew from a very young age; my first memories are of a psychic nature. As a young child I was fascinated by the paranormal and always involved in some or other psychic game or play activity. I was constantly aware of the presence of my grandmother and many others who are in spirit. Some of them scared me sometimes, by slamming doors or paging books I was reading. I had several “imaginary friends”; some of them are still with me at times. I never thought it strange or unusual, although other people often thought of me as slightly odd! One unpleasant aspect of my childhood was that I often experienced physical discomfort and symptoms when I came into contact with people who were ill or injured.

Q: How does a psychic empath see the world? Tell us about your personal experiences.

A: Well, for many years I struggled along as an unconscious empath. I simply had no clue, and I experienced it as a curse, certainly not as a gift! I was a walking energy sponge, absorbing a lot of negativity around me. I could never understand why I felt compelled to avoid crowds, and why people often loved to intrude on my personal space in public places. Empaths tune into the energy and emotions that surround others; we are like magnets attracting people’s problems, worries and spiritual imbalances. We are obviously also unpleasantly affected by the energy of others. I don’t just interpret or read energy; I actually experience its effects on my body and mind. I had to learn the hard way to buffer myself and maintain strong boundaries to protect me. I sometimes jokingly refer to myself as the “boy in the bubble”, because I live in a protective bubble of psychic energy at all times. I also try to avoid energetically loaded places, like funeral parlors, crimes scenes or haunted homes. After Nelson Mandela was released from prison, they converted the Robben Island jail into a museum. My visit there almost ended up in me being hospitalized, I had a severe physical and emotional response to the place. A lot of human suffering took place there.

Q: I noticed that you have a B.A. in Psychology. I would think this background would really help magnify any psychic skills you already have?

A. Oh, most definitely. Ironically, my original intention was not to study this field to be a better psychic. Quite the contrary! There was a long period in my life, especially during my teens and early adulthood, that I completely denied my paranormal abilities. I refused to have anything to do with it! It scared me, and I viewed it as an embarrassing secret. However, I continuously felt the need to help and support others emotionally. My goal was to become a clinical therapist, but obviously there was a bigger plan for me in the end! My knowledge of human behavior and my counseling skills do come in handy. A more interesting spin-off is that I often encounter clients who are dealing with the effects of having a partner or spouse with serious psychological problems. The ‘cluster B’ personality disorders appear to be the category I most commonly attract in my work. These disorders often go undiagnosed for many years and I believe they are far more prevalent in our modern society than people may realize? I also find that my empathic clients tend to attract these personality types in relationships, and the combination can no doubt be lethal.

Q: For someone who is unsure about choosing you as their psychic, is there anything you would tell them to remove their doubts?

A. The answer is very simple. My advice to such a person would be to not contact me at all. It is common knowledge that most people who consult psychics are spiritually evolved and naturally intuitive themselves. Always follow your gut instinct when choosing a psychic. If there are any doubts in your mind about a psychic, don’t bother making contact. It is very likely that your reading will be blurred, weird or even disappointing. If you approach a psychic with hesitation, doubt, fear or skepticism or if you are unclear in your own mind about what exactly it is you want to get a reading on, then don’t waste your time. Confused or suspicious energy only attracts more of the same. The flow of energy becomes disrupted or even blocked. If you approach a reading expecting poor results, that is most certainly what you will end up with.

Q: What do you enjoy the most about giving psychic readings and why?

A: The one thing that consistently makes it all worthwhile is the feedback I receive from clients. They often achieve miraculous results in their lives! Nothing is more satisfying than hearing the good news and sharing in their joy and happiness. It makes all the occasional occupational hazards of being a professional psychic more than worth it. It is amazing to know that the work you do can make so much difference in someone’s life! I am truly blessed.

Q: Do you have a website? Tell us about it? I noticed also that you offer webcam readings. I don’t recall seeing too many other psychics offering this type of reading (but I could be wrong), and it seems like a great idea and way to connect with people.

I initially focused on in-person work, but later discovered that I can reach so many more folks in need of help by also working online. I now try to maintain a productive balance between personal sessions, phone readings and online work. Video chat readings are certainly growing in popularity, because it offers a much more personal touch, similar to receiving an in-person reading, but in the comfort of your own home. Many clients love to see you on webcam and watch you work. I also find that a growing number of online clients are opting for services provided by psychics whose identity has been verified. Q: Do you have any special projects or future events you are currently working on?

A: I am writing a book about the spiritual evolution of mankind. It remains a work in progress and it will probably remain as such for many moons to come! Also, I have been asked to produce and co-host a new psychic radio talk show. I am not in a position to reveal too much at this stage, but the details will be announced within the next month. A.J. Barrera is one of the youngest psychics mediums in the media today. He started his professional psychic career at just 19 years old. In this interview we will see how A.J. got his early start and what support he had growing up. He also shares with us his prediction about psychics and mediumship over the next 50 years.

Q: A.J. tell me how you got started as psychic and how did your family feel about you starting this endeavor? Was it the family business?

A: It all began when I was in the sixth grade. Seeing psychics and fortune tellers on TV caused both disbelief and curiosity. Soon I found himself practicing with a deck of Tarot Cards, determined to prove (to myself and others) that so-called “psychics and mediums” can’t possibly connect to the Other Side. On the contrary, I discovered an interpretation of my own for each tarot card I studied.

Once I realized I had a unique ability to identify with the tarot, I began using them to describe personal information of fellow peers, as well as predictions of future events.

My journey took an even greater turn in high school when my teacher Ellen Marron, a medium herself, noticed my gift and quickly became my mentor. Marron took me underneath her wing and continued to help guide me in my journey of understanding, as well as help me to appreciate my abilities. Once I began assisting others with guidance; I naturally began to develop my abilities on my own; finally understanding what I had been tapping into for so long.

It wasn’t until I was 19 years old when a Los Angels radio station, KOST 103.5 had a evening show "Angels In Waiting" which aired on Sunday nights from 7pm – Midnight when my career as a professional psychic medium really took off.

As for my family accepting what path I was walking down; my father didn’t believe in it nor my mother due to their  Catholic upbringing. Myself being raised as Catholic, it was consider the devils work and that we should not disturb the dead (hence rest in peace). The fact is that they are more alive then we are! For the most part, my parent thought it was a "phase" that I was going through, now that I am 25 years old–I jokingly tell them both "look, its not a phase anymore."

Q: It’s amazing that your family didn’t force you to stop and that they seems supportive of your "phase." How did you grow to be a celebrity psychic?

A: I’ve grown to become a celebrity psychic by merely doing what I love to do, which is helping people. I was coined a "Celebrity Psychic Medium" on FOX News radio when they asked about my connections with people in the business. I have met and read for many people in the entertainment business, but the main thing is to keep it real and keep things balance. Those who are in the entertainment business (actors, musicians, producers, writers, authors, etc.) have a gift as well which is why they are being recognized.  I just use my gift to help these normal people just as myself to give some insight/guidance.

Q: Sylvia Browne is the most famous of psychics, but then you have Chip Coffee, James Van Praagh, John Edward, Lisa Williams even Edgar Casey is still famous for his predictions.  Is this a male or female dominated business? What is the difference between female and male psychics if there is one?

A: I feel in a sense its kind of 50/50 but more females are recognized with the ability.  I like to look back at the older mediums actually such as the Fox sisters, Emma Britten, Allen Kardec, Eileen Garrett, who were really well known for their time in the 1800′s. I personally don’t feel there is a difference between male & female psychic. I feel its how the psychic uses their ability to strengthen them. Our mind is like a muscle the more nutrition & vitamins you give the stronger it gets.

Q: When you look 50 years into the future how do you think the planet will evolve as far as psychics and the paranormal goes?
A: As far as psychic mediums goes (which I mention a lot on radio and TV interviews) is that the whole "psychic mediumship" is not going to be a big phenomenon because everyone will be in tuned to the spirit world and themselves to make that connection directly. I feel that we are already in a shift where "Spirit" or "The Divine" is already preparing people to wake up and open their eyes by allowing producer & writer to put these movies on the big screen where all will see & perhaps witness some "paranormal" experiences.

Q: What difference do you want to make in the world as far as your work is concerned?

A: The goal as a psychic medium is not to be just "the messenger" for people. I want to give and show awareness that the soul still survives after death and there is a deeper connection where love comes from. We all fear the unknown and I want to give people an understanding into one of the greatest mysteries, which we call death.

Q: Do you feel we are still to closed off and skeptical about the unknown? What advice do you have for those who are skeptical?

A: Death is merely a transition that we make to the other side and some people just need to be a little bit open minded. I don’t mind if you’re skeptical, but be an open skeptic. Sometimes people are just so closed minded — they need to experience what psychic mediumship is all about rather than jump to conclusion or thinking and reacting the way they were brought up.

Growing up a Jehovah’s Witness child living in a haunted house wasn’t an easy for celebrity psychic Belinda Bentley (Vh1, E!), but she turned her fear into a strength and began communicating with spirit, doing psychics readings and has become a trusted Hollywood  sex psychic for five years.

Q: What was your early childhood like?

Honestly, it was terrifying. I lived in a haunted house that had residual energy, poltergeist energy, ghost, spirits you name it, it was there. Late at night you’d hear people splashing in the pool yet no one was in it. Locked doors would open by themselves. I remember a woman hovering over me calling my name. That is when I tried to shut the medium side of me up! I didn’t want to hear it, know about it or deal with it. As a Jehovah’s Witness child I was taught there are no spirits only demons and calling out gods name would help. It never did!

I recall being around six when my aunt told me she was "ready to go," when my family went to say good-bye to her lifeless body in the hospital. She was brain dead. It was peaceful and loving. I respected she was ready, but everyone around me was crying and I didn’t understand why. As an adult I always look back on that experience and I am thankful for it. It was the only time in my childhood seeing a spirit wasn’t scary. At this point in time, I had no idea I was psychic either, but I would warn people about things that was common sense in my mind.

Q: Do you still get scared dealing with spirits?

Not really scared, but I do feel cautious and apprehensive when I feel negative energy. You always want to stay alert in new surroundings. I feel safer with spirits then I do people. People can and will intentionally hurt you. Spirits hurting people intentionally is rare in comparison.

Q: With those kinds of experiences how did you over come your fear to become a celebrity psychic and medium? What can others do to overcome their fears?

When I discovered I was psychic at fifteen years old I’d had enough of being scared. I devoted a lot of time to reading Sylvia Browns books and learning the tarot. I was afraid of the unknown. The more I learned the less afraid I became, but my religious background was deep rooted and old habits die hard. Permanent change happened when I got angry at my fears, because it was paralyzing me and keeping me from moving forward. When you realize you no longer want fear to rule your life is when things change. People are afraid of the unknown. My advice to others is don’t let the unknown stay hidden. Bring it into the light and face your fears. Knowledge really is power!

Q: You mentioned earlier you’d warn people about things, that was "common sense" to you. What kinds of things did you warn about?

My sister was asking my father if she could spend the night at a friends house. I’d interrupted to say, ‘No daddy don’t let her.’ I rambled something about she isn’t going to want to stay and she will come home upset. No one listened. At 11:30pm my sister called crying saying she wanted to come home. I can remember thinking my family was dumb for not listening and they should have known just as well as I did! At the time I was only seven.

Q: How did you become a sex psychic?

I am a regular average psychic. During my readings I’ll look at career, health, situations, events, family, love and relationships, but why stop there? Because of my religious up bringing I noticed people avoided the topic of sex, or treated sex like it was dirty. How can it be dirty when it’s the only reason we exist? We are here because of it! Then in my readings I noticed, people were having career issues, health and romantic issues due to their sexuality. Once I realized that sexual issues can cause problems in every area of our lives I felt it was important to share that with my clients and it grew into being a sex psychic. It can be healing, but it also can be a lot of fun. I don’t censor myself much.

Q: What is your most extraordinary story?

To me it is the experience where I saved a mans life by seeing a heart condition. I was certain it was there even though he had just had a physical. He listened to my words and went back to the Dr. where they found he was dying. They directed him to write his Will and say his good-byes. In my reading I told his wife "there is something you can do about it." Because of those words they got a new doctor and she saw the same thing, but offered a surgery that gave him a 50/50 chance at survival. It saved his life. Had I not seen it and urged his wife to take care of the problem he would have died with-in six month. This story reminds me of the good psychics can do!

Q: How do you deal with skeptics?

I love most skeptics. They are scientist and they know the right questions to ask to get to the bottom of a situation or to get to the truth of the matter. Skeptics don’t assume something is or is not. They just don’t believe in something until they experience them or prove them to be true. Unreasonable skeptic who put down peoples belief systems without any knowledge I don’t deal with ever. They are a skeptic for a reason and I let them be.

Today we are very lucky to have Trena Barnes Join us.  From my initial brief communication with Trena, I understand that she teaches psychic development classes which is quite fascinating.  My first look at her website really had me quite impressed.  It is one of the nicest websites I have seen in a long time and very clear and pleasing to the eye.

Q:  Welcome Trena.  Could you tell us how you first became interested in the Psychic Realm?  and then how that led you to actually teaching courses ?

A: First of all, thank you for the compliments Tom.

I’m not completely certain what got me started because I was quite young but I think it might have been a fortunate coincidence. When I was about 10 or so, I found some of my father’s books about UFO’s and other strange phenomena. Even at that young age I found them interesting so I started looking for similar material at the local library. At that time those types of subjects were next to the very small “occult” section so with my voracious appetite for reading it was probably just a natural progression from the Bermuda Triangle to ESP.

As I got older I wanted to learn to do all the interesting things I’d read about. Lots of the books claimed we all had these gifts and I had seen enough evidence around me to know that it was true (my mother told us about a dream she’d had about the death of her Grandmother and when the phone call came on the same day with the news, all we could do was stare in awe) but I had never exhibited any ability.

That changed in 2005 when I took a course on angels. During the course, my skeptic’s mind demanded proof that angels exist so I asked them to tell me something about my spouse that I could verify. I won’t tell you what they said but I heard a voice in my head giving me information loud and clear and when I asked my husband if the information was true, he laughed and told me it was.

That for me was definitive proof that there is much more to our universe than meets the eye. It also proved that psychic abilities exist since we have to access them in order to speak with our angels. I’d never really been psychic before (or so I thought) so we must be able to learn how to use these senses.

From that moment on I lived a very different life, one in which there was amazing magic and peace knowing that we are truly never alone in the universe. It was an incredible comfort to me and I knew that I wanted to help others experience that for themselves.

Along with loving to read, I love to write so I began to write what I think of as an instruction manual for developing your psychic ability and that eventually formed the basis of my classes.

Q: I usually start out my first question seeking to gain some general background information, but since I cheated and looked at your website I noticed that there are four main areas you focus on, namely ThetaHealing, Angel Readings, Mediumship and Reiki.  Perhaps you could tell us a bit about each of these…

A: ThetaHealing is an amazing modality so named because the healer goes into a theta brainwave state to do what amounts to power manifestation. Each of us holds beliefs in our subconscious mind and since our subconscious is actually the majority of who we are, it can create havoc in our life if the beliefs held there are in error. The theta practitioner in doing a healing goes into a theta state to connect with God, Source Energy or Creator who then coaches the practitioner about what is held in the subconscious of the person to be healed. When an erroneous belief is found or Creator notices that information is missing (such as not knowing what it feels like to be loved for example) Creator will change the belief or download the missing information to the person being healed. The practitioner psychically “witnesses” the healing take place and it becomes so.

During a session, muscle testing is used to find beliefs so we can immediately know if change has taken place by re-testing to see if the belief has changed.

Reprogramming ourselves in this way can change your life quickly. Instead of doing affirmations for long periods of time to convince yourself you believe something, Creator can instantly teach you how to and what it feels like to believe it. Both physical and emotional issues can be healed in this way.

Angel readings are similar to psychic readings in that people usually seek them out for information, guidance and clarity, but instead of gathering the information from the energy of the client, I ask the client’s angels for it.

Each of us has angels around us at all times that act as guides. These angels are here to help us with anything we require and want very much to be heard. They are speaking with us at all times. If you have repeated thoughts or synchronistic happenstances in your life chances are that your angels are behind them.

During a reading I connect with your angels allowing you to ask questions and get very specific information in return. My experience with them is that they talk to me psychically in visions and their guidance always makes you feel uplifted and loved.

A mediumship reading is similar to an angel reading except that the goal is for the medium to connect with a deceased friend or relative. Because I have been trained as a spiritualist medium, it is important that during a session, I can establish that the spirit I’m connecting with is who they say they are. I always ask for information from the spirit that my client can verify and the reading does not proceed until my client and I are certain who we are communicating with.

What is different than an angel reading is that we are connecting with beings who are not enlightened. People who have crossed over can be in death very much as they were in life. This is why we ask for verification of identity but it also means that if a spirit doesn’t wish to talk to the medium, there isn’t much the medium can do about it. Some people believe that those who have crossed over recently might not know how to communicate with a medium or are too busy to do so. I believe some spirits are a bit shy as well. Going into a mediumship reading, we must be aware that a connection might not be made.

For many, a mediumship reading can be a very profound experience because it is proof positive that there is life after death. It can be very healing for the client as it is an opportunity for them to make sure their loved one is safe, happy and comfortable. In many cases, connecting with a deceased loved one provides amazing closure that allows the client to move through the grieving process with ease.

Reiki is an energy healing treatment which is similar to acupuncture except that instead of needles being used to move energy in and around the body, the practitioner uses their hands and the energy is channeled. It is thought that the universal life force energy that each of us has within us can build up or block some areas and thus causes disease. During a Reiki treatment, the practitioner uses their hands to manipulate the energy, dissipating the blocks and allowing healing to occur.

Reiki treatments are done with the client lying down on a massage table and are very relaxing and rejuvenating.

All of these services can be done in person or remotely, that is, by phone, email or Skype.

Q:  What type of person would be best suited to your classes on mediumship and psychic development ?  Are there any important requirements before someone signs up?

A: Anyone who is interested in angels, psychic abilities, ghosts, crystals, alternative healing or the paranormal would be suited to my classes whether they think they have ability or not. The classes are fun and filled with laughter which helps dispel commonly felt fears.

There are no requirements specifically for my classes but having an open mind would be helpful. You do not have to believe in everything right away, but the classes are a great way to open the door to a world you didn’t know existed. Just about everyone I’ve taught has had some kind of eye-opening experience that is proof positive of the reality of this stuff. Our angels are especially great at giving us proof of their existence in the physical world.

Previous ability isn’t necessary either. As I’ve said before, we can all do this. Most people find that they’ve actually been using their abilities all their lives and didn’t realize it.

Q:  How long does it usually take someone to learn the skills you teach?  Is there a time frame which they should plan for or does it really depend on each individual ?

A: Everyone will be using their abilities by the end of the very first class. Trusting that they are using their abilities takes a little longer. As I said, most people realize right away that they’ve been using their psychic senses all their lives but didn’t know it. I think this is because movies, t.v., books and even other psychics have portrayed that these abilities are gifts given to special people only and that they are difficult to learn and use. This is hooey! In reality, being psychic is easy, fun and natural.

Trust is important because when you first start using your psychic ability, it seems like you are making it up, or it is your imagination. Some people are really afraid of doing this work and that can make their ability shut down as will trying too hard.

Practice takes care of most of these. Over time, you will receive validation of your ability by experience or by using your new skills with someone else. That helps immensely with trust. When you become confident at what you are doing, fear also becomes less of a problem.

The best part about all of this is that very little practice seems to go a long way. These abilities are rather like a muscle. Work them out regularly and they become strong and reliable quickly.

Perhaps you could tell us a little background and how you first got involved in the psychic realm and how it all got started?  How long have you been helping others with your psychic abilities?  What type of psychic abilities or specialties do you have or feel you can best help others with? 

Often the question regarding when did I first recognize my psychic ability? It is about my painful journey opposed to psychics whereas their family supported and respected the pursuit of intuitive knowledge. Here is my story…

Around the age of five, already manifesting within myself Psycho Kinesics (PK) which is defined by the phrase “mind over matter”.

Growing up in a large wealthy family, which was often clouded by the material world, proved to be a difficult obstacle for me to overcome. I was labeled strange, different and of course crazy. Many years of poor choices and hard lessons to enable me to admit that I was not following my true path marked the beginning of my journey.

I was in my middle 20’s when I took part in various PK studies. UCLA, parapsychology department known for PK research proved to be very rewarding.

My professional background of 23 years experience has proved to be feasible and above all advantageous to clients such as Disney and Fortune 500 executives as well as professional heavy weight boxers.

I maintain a remarkable degree of objectivity – with focus in the following:

I am self-taught in every respect – reading and searching for authors became my mentors. I discovered the wealth of knowledge to be gleaned from astrology, numerology and most importantly the Tarot.

The Tarot is a symbolic record of human experience and I found the cards to be a link to my PK ability. The Tarot cards fall into place through movement and energy in ways that were similar to PK. There is a symbiosis between the two disciplines. The Tarot is a rewarding tool and every negative can become a positive.

Are there any important lessons you have learned in giving psychic readings over the years?

My unusual life experiences and vivacious style create a unique ambience for my clients whom enjoy the fascinating, energetic reader that I am. I find my interactions with clients to be just as enriching for me as they are for them. As I mentioned already maintaining objectivity is very important as well as motivated by good intentions.

What would you tell someone who has never received a psychic reading before, is afraid or has doubts about getting a reading and holds back for fear of finding out ‘what they don’t want to know’ ?

I would encourage anyone with concerns as mentioned above to wait until they work through the fear and such before seeking a reading. I found long ago that when an individual by choice seeks counseling – they will get a referral (to see a trusted professional) they make an appointment they have fears about what will come up but they are prepared for such. It is the same when seeking consultation from a *trusted referred intuitive, psychic, light worker and so on) – stay clear from a professional which does not embrace personal power and shows signs of hidden agendas.

Is there anyone in this world to whom you would *not* want to give a psychic reading to ?

Myself and any family members which I am emotionally attached too. **Others which are motivated with testing my insight and do not desire to have an honest reading.

Q: Tell us a little bit about how you first became interested in
helping others with your psychic abilities or some general background
on yourself or how it all got started?

A.  I honestly have always been interested in helping others get insight into their personal issues and conflicts.  In college, I began to really study other belief systems and really felt drawn to the Pagan beliefs and the use of energy and magic in order to connect with others and to get myself on a path toward my goals.  I really began to get serious with Tarot when my mom passed away in 2005.  I had been playing with the cards before then, but after her death I really devoted myself to the study of them and began reading for myself to help guide me through that difficult time.

Q. I understand that you like to focus on giving tarot card readings
? If so, tell us how tarot card readings can help find insights into
peoples lives and why you chose to use tarot cards as a tool?

A.  I enjoy Tarot readings as I personally like to have a tool that I can feel and see.  The symbolism in the Tarot card art really drew me to them, as symbolism is truly that of the unconscious which then allows for more insight by bringing that to the forefront and allowing the person receiving the reading to see things they may not have been aware of.  It also tends to make the person put some effort into what they want.  The future is not fixed and there are steps that can be taken to get what we want in life, but it is not always easy. Tarot can be brutally honest, but to those that are open it can be an excellent tool for self growth.

Q. Is there anything that surprises you when you give readings,
perhaps unexpected insights that you were not expecting or prepared
for ?

A.  This has happened many times!  Not only on myself but there have been many cases where a client has wanted to focus on a specific issue but the cards have other ideas in mind.  I tell my clients that if the cards are going in a different direction then that is energy that they need to more focus on at the moment.  Again this goes back to the unconscious level and the cards can really force you to look at the true issues at hand that we all sometimes may not want to face but if we want to make progress we have to.  This can be a difficult thing to tell a client, but I have to be honest with what the cards are telling me and convey that to my clients.

Q. Do you feel that the use of tarot cards is the best way to gain
insights into helping others? Do most psychics use tarot cards? And
if not why?

A.  I would never say that one way or one tool is the best.  I prefer them as my tool and have found that they work the best for me and I can make the best connections with them for my clients.  Many psychics use Tarot cards and some do not.  It really is a matter of personal preference as to what each psychic uses and what tool they feel provides the most accurate results for their clients.

Q. If someone has never had a tarot card reading before, what reason
would you give them as to why they should get one right now ?

A.  For anyone wanting a reading or if they are just looking for some insight into an issue or general feeling about the things going on around them, Tarot can provide an excellent source for that.  Not only do they get an idea of the energy around them, the cards are something visible that the client can see and take some of their own ideas from.  Sometimes having something to see can really make the reading more clear and create a feeling of introspection that you may not get from other sources or tools.

Q. Is there anything else you would like to add or say about yourself
or how you feel you can best help people? Also, tell us how people
can contact you or if you have a website they can visit to find out
more.

A.  I truly enjoy reading for my clients and helping them to not only reach their goals but also to be more confident in themselves and trusting of their own instincts.  I abide by high ethical standards and will never tell a client what they want to hear, but will tell them the truth be it positive or negative.  If there is negative energy or a situation that the client needs to move away from, I will do my utmost to help them navigate that situation for the best possible outcome.

I am a member of the American Tarot Association and am in a constant state of learning.  I feel that we all should be seeking further knowledge and if I am going to be asking of my clients to look inside of themselves to make changes, then I should be willing to do the same!
